Sisters and Brothers,
Governor Richardson has started taking action on legislation passed this last special session, but he has not yet acted on the 7.6% agency cuts. He has until Thursday to act, so we need to continue to make calls into his office and ask for the veto. The number is 505-476-2200. Our message has stayed the same. These cuts will be bad for our state, they will be bad for the citizens, and they will only slow down our recovery from the recession. We can not afford to take money out of our economy.
So please continue to make calls and as soon as he makes a decision I will let everyone know. If any of you hear something please do not hesitate to pass it on. Many times our members on the ground hear these things first.
Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication with the calls, lets not slow down now. Josh Anderson AFSCME Council 18 505-266-2177 work 505-266-3155 fax
